Visiting the London School and College Leaver Festival

Key Stage 4 pupils recently attended The London School and College Leaver Festival at London Excel. There were stands from universities, colleges and companies offering Apprenticeships, from a variety of industries and sectors.

Pupils had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with representatives from these organisations, and even pupils from different schools. The pupils gave positive feedback about the trip with one pupil saying: “This was a really good trip because, it allowed us to understand a clear perception of life would be like after school.”

Pupils in Key Stage 4 are often overwhelmed by the thought of leaving school. We took pupils to the event so that they could see the options available to them after school and to have a glimpse at what life would be like going into the big wide world. The pupils also experienced all opportunities from apprenticeships, further & higher education and employment. This allowed pupils to offer the chance to engage with top employers, colleges, universities & training providers in a face-to-face interactive environment.

This trip was a crucial learning experience for our pupils. The event helped our pupils plan for their futures. It not only expanded their horizons but also gave them confidence as they look forward to the exciting journey ahead.
