Our Year 9 pupils visited the London Sea Life Aquarium as part of our science curriculum, and the trip was both educational and exciting. Pupils had an opportunity to explore the different zones of the aquarium. One of the first highlights was walking through the Ocean Tunnel, where sharks, rays, and turtles swam above us, giving us a close look at how these animals move in their natural habitats. Pupils were mesmerised by the sharks and were blown away by the fact the smaller fish in the tank were not eaten by the sharks!
Pupils were able to visit themed areas, including the Coral Kingdom, the Rainforest zone, and Penguin Point. Each section contained a variety of species, colourful displays, and information boards that helped us learn about conservation, food chains, and the importance of protecting marine environments. Many students especially enjoyed watching the jellyfish in their illuminated tanks and the penguins diving into the water.
One pupil said “It was a fun day! I can’t believe how many different kinds of fish were there! I really enjoyed seeing all the different sharks.”
The pupils had a great time exploring the aquarium and seeing the different species. A great day out overall!
