Year 8 pupils enjoyed a trip to the National Maritime Museum; this trip was linked to the Year 8 Curriculum learning about the Tudor and Stuarts.
Pupils were given the chance to visit the Tudor and Stuart galleries and view a range of artefacts and interactive exhibits that brought this time period to life. One pupil commented: “I did not realise how clever the Tudor and Stuarts were in crafting goods.”. Another pupil commented: “The replica of the Tudor ships was amazing”.
A bonus of the trip was the chance to visit the Windrush Gallery where pupils were able to watch a documentary about the Windrush Generation, listen to a curator talk and participate in a discussion about Caribbean foods – which appealed to the keen cooks in the class!
The trip concluded with a meal at “The Big Easy” in Canary Wharf where pupils were treated to a delicious meal with views over the Docklands.
This was a positive learning experience and pupils were enthusiastic.
