Pupils from Year 8 attended Enigma Quest Arcade as part of our Cultural Capital programme. The visit gave pupils the opportunity to develop problem solving skills, improve teamwork and practise working under pressure in a fun and engaging environment.
Pupils worked in small teams to complete a wide range of challenges. These ranged from simple games that tested accuracy and skill to more complex mathematical puzzles that required careful thinking and communication. Each team had five minutes in each room to complete the task before moving on to the next challenge.
There was a great variety of themed rooms which kept pupils fully engaged throughout the visit. Pupils explored spaces inspired by alien worlds, ball pits, bowling challenges and even rooms where the floor was lava. The variety meant that every pupil had the chance to succeed in different ways and contribute to their team.
Teams were able to choose the order in which they completed the rooms and were rewarded with points based on how quickly and successfully they finished each challenge. This encouraged pupils to think carefully about strategy while also working together to achieve the best outcome.
One pupil from the winning team said: “It was my favourite trip because every game was different and we won together as a team.” This reflected the positive atmosphere throughout the day, and the strong sense of teamwork shown by all pupils.
After the activities, pupils enjoyed a meal together before heading back to school. Despite the cold weather, spirits were high following a successful and enjoyable day.
Trips like this are a key part of our Cultural Capital offer. They give pupils the chance to experience new environments, build confidence and develop important life skills through shared experiences.
