A Message From Our Headteacher
Welcome to New Rush Hall School (NRHS). I am incredibly proud to lead a school that believes passionately in what every young person can achieve.
Many of our pupils come to NRHS having experienced significant challenges in their lives or previous education. It is important that we understand those experiences and the impact they may have had, but equally important that they do not define what happens next. Our pupils deserve the same ambition, opportunities and expectations as any other young person.
That belief shapes everything we do.
We provide the specialist support our pupils need alongside an education that challenges them, creates opportunities and prepares them for life beyond NRHS. At the heart of this is a committed staff team who build strong relationships with pupils and families and who genuinely want every young person to succeed.
We want pupils to achieve meaningful qualifications, but education is about much more than what appears on a certificate. It is about discovering interests and talents, experiencing new things, building positive relationships, developing confidence and independence, and beginning to see possibilities for the future.
Inclusion sits at the heart of our school. We know that every pupil is different and that what works for one may not work for another. We will adapt, find different ways to engage and keep trying when things don’t work first time, but we will never use a pupil’s needs or previous experiences as a reason to expect less of them.
Above all, I want every pupil to leave NRHS knowing that they were understood, challenged and believed in; proud of what they have achieved and confident that their past does not determine their future.
NRHS is a place where doors are opened, resilience is built and attitudes and lives are transformed.
