Year 7 pupils went on an exciting trip to the London Eye. We went by tube to Waterloo, then walked along the Southbank to The Eye, it was a lovely day so the pupils didn’t mind the walk.
Going on the London Eye was a great opportunity for everyone to experience the beautiful and fascinating London skyline from a unique vantage point – even those of us who don’t like heights enjoyed the view! We saw so many iconic landmarks: the Houses of Parliament and The Elizabeth clock tower, Horse Guards Parade, The Shard, Buckingham Palace, The BT Tower and, of course, the mighty River Thames and several of its bridges.
We could see for miles and the pupils were amazed at how sprawled out London is. One pupil said: ‘The centre of London is actually quite small compared to how far, and how many buildings, make up the whole of London. With another pupil commenting: ‘It’s amazing to see how the river winds its way through London and beyond, I can’t believe how wide it is in some places.
All in all, a great fun way to experience our capital city and its wonderful history.
