Sapphire Class learnt how the people of Great Britain survived the food shortages and rationing during World War II.
They dressed in camouflage and acted out being in the land army.
They had to down tools and seek cover when they heard the air raid siren and had to wait for the all clear siren before continuing with their work.
After they finished digging the vegetable bed, they took part in an army fitness activity, a mini assault course.
They all took turns to race to the end of the allotment, starting under the tarpaulin using an army crawl. They all did it three times to improve their speed.
They all did an amazing job.
When the outdoor activities ended, the pupils completed some written work in the allotment classroom.
One pupil said: “Getting dressed up was great fun, it really helped us get into the mood for taking part in this. I really enjoyed the race.”
