This summer, around 35 pupils from New Rush Hall School enjoyed an unforgettable four days and three nights at PGL in Surrey, staying in Bethany House. The trip was packed with exciting activities including fencing, rifle shooting, archery, climbing, the giant swing and rafting. Pupils threw themselves into each challenge with energy and enthusiasm, making the most of every opportunity.
Through these experiences, pupils developed skills that link closely to our school values: resilience when tackling the climbing wall, teamwork while rafting, courage on the giant swing and determination during activities such as archery and rifle shooting. Just as importantly, the trip gave pupils the chance to build confidence, strengthen friendships and spend meaningful time together outside of the classroom. Evenings were filled with games, sports, film nights and forest hikes, creating memories that will last long after the summer.
With limited access to phones and technology, pupils had the chance to truly connect with one another and the outdoors. The sense of community was clear to see, even if staff were a little short on sleep by the end of it all! Overall, the residential was an incredible few days that captured the spirit of adventure, friendship and learning that sits at the heart of New Rush Hall School. Roll on the next residential.
