We were thrilled to welcome Louchavan Lemard, Director of PH247, to speak with our Year 11 pupils, in what was a powerful and inspiring session.
Louchavan shared his personal journey, from facing serious struggles in his youth, including homelessness caused by a dodgy plumber, getting involved with the wrong crowd, and failing his GCSEs, to becoming a successful entrepreneur and community leader. The turning point came when he was given a second chance which started with a Level 1 plumbing course at college. He then moved onto an apprenticeship and eventually built his own plumbing business.
Now a multi-award-winning director with six accolades recognising his work, Louchavan spoke openly and honestly about the importance of resilience, making good choices and working hard even when the odds are stacked against you.
Many pupils were eager to learn more about apprenticeships and how to take those next steps. Louchavan didn’t just share his story, he offered practical advice, motivation and a strong message that your past doesn’t define your future.
One pupil described him as “inspirational,” saying that Louchavan truly related to their struggles and showed them that “if he could fail and make it so can we.”
