We were pleased to be hosted once again by Jason at PEW, who gave our Year 9 pupils an inspiring insight into the world of work and what it takes to build a successful business.
Jason, the founder of PEW Electrical, shared his personal journey with our pupils – from leaving school with very few GCSEs, starting out as an apprentice, and eventually growing his own company into the successful business it is today. His story showed our pupils that success doesn’t always follow a straight path, and that hard work and determination can take you far.
He also gave us a tour of the warehouse, showing the many different roles and responsibilities involved in running a company. From logistics and stock management to teamwork and leadership, pupils were able to see how each part of the business works together to keep things moving.
Jason also invited special guest Louchavan, the director of PH247, to speak with our pupils. Louchavan shared his powerful story of growing up in a very underprivileged background, surrounded by difficult choices. Despite this, he stayed focused, worked hard, and is now running his own company. He spoke passionately about the importance of making good choices, and how he now helps other young people find better opportunities for their futures.
Our pupils left feeling inspired, with a better understanding of the working world and what’s possible when you stay motivated and determined.
A huge thank you to Jason and Louchavan for their time, honesty, and encouragement — and for showing our young people what’s possible, no matter where you start.
