Skills London 2023

New Rush Hall School recently took the Year 10 and 11 pupils to the Skills London 2023 Careers Fair at London Excel. There were stands from Universities, Colleges, and Company’s offering Apprenticeships, from a variety of industries and sectors.

Pupils had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with representatives from these organisations, and even pupils from different schools.

The pupils gave positive feedback about the trip with one pupil commenting: “I spoke to different colleges, companies, and pupils from different schools, this definitely gave me something to think about when considering what I want to do when I leave school”.

Another pupil said: “There were lots of options and I found a football college to look into. Thanks to the school, I feel more confident about choosing a college now.” The event supported pupils in making informed decisions about their education and careers.

The Fair also gave guidance to pupils with specific career goals and ambitions. One pupil aiming to be an Electrical Engineer said, “I was given good advice regarding becoming an Electrical Engineer and about working for companies like TESLA. Professionals told me the GCSE Grades I will need and the educational path to take.”. This advice gave our pupils practical insights into their chosen fields.

This trip was a crucial learning experience for our pupils. The event helped our pupils plan for their futures. It not only expanded their horizons but also gave them confidence as they look forward to th exciting journey ahead.
