Furry Friends

To celebrate Spring and Easter, pupils enjoyed a visit from Ark Farm, an educational mobile farm. Classes spent time with the animals which included Lambs, Pigs and Piglets, a Donkey, a Goat and Dogs, they were allowed to get up close and personal to have a hands-on tactile experience.

All pupils engaged with all the animals really well and enjoyed the experience enormously. Interacting with the animals held their focus and attention for the duration of the time that they spent with them, as well as having a calming effect on the pupils.

The pupils enjoyed learning about the animals; what the animals eat and they were allowed to feed them. The Lambs were a particular favourite with all the pupils. Ark Farm also provided a Small Furry Animals workshop. The benefits of being able to be hands-on with the animals were clear to see, the animals had a very calming impact on the pupils, especially the pupils who were initially a little over-excited

Of the Small Furry Animals, pupils were particularly excited to see a Sugar Glider, Hedgehog (though not really a furry animal), Rabbits and Chicks.

After visiting the Farm, and of course after washing their hands, pupils were treated to an Easter Cupcake, made by our very own Catering team.
