Blue is the colour …

As part of the school’s Culture Capital Programme and to promote inclusivity within sport, selected pupils across Primary and Secondary were rewarded with a trip to Wembley stadium to see the final of the Women’s FA Cup. NRHS pupils were part of a record-breaking event as over 77,000 people were in attendance, a world record for a Women’s football game.

For many pupils, this was the first time they had had the opportunity to watch a live football match and for some, this was the first time they had been surrounded by thousands of people.

We decided to support Chelsea, as they were the London team. It turned out to be a great decision as a goal from Sam Kerr gave Chelsea the slim 1-0 win.

One pupil said: ‘I loved it. I loved that we won and it was one of the best things I’ve done all year.’

All pupils had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Their behaviour was impeccable and they were a credit to the school.
